National Association of Marine Surveyors- Incorporated as a nonprofit corporation by the state of New York in 1962 by a group of Marine Surveyors who had previously functioned as informal correspondents of the Yacht Safety Bureau (now the Marine Division of Underwriters Laboratories.)
