University of Maribor

University of Maribor- In 1859, a new seminary and religious school was opened in Maribor. After 1959, some colleges were founded as a result of the economic and social needs of the northeastern Slovenia. In 1961 the Association of Institutions of Higher Education was established and incorporated the existing colleges. This Association lived through 1975 when the new University of Maribor was born.
