United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM)- Responsible for all U.S. military activities in South America and Central America. Encompasses nineteen countries, represents about one-sixth of the world's land mass and covers about seven million square miles, stretching 6,000 miles from Mexico's southern border to Cape Horn.
