U.S. Navy SOund SUrveillance System (SOSUS) Monitoring System- SOSUS consists of bottom mounted hydrophone arrays connected by undersea communication cables to facilities on shore. The individual arrays are at locations optimized for undistorted long range acoustic propagation.
