The Two Souls of Socialism- An essay by Hal Draper which was originally printed in the socialist student magazine Anvil (Winter 1960) and was subsequently expanded. The work is a historical interpretation of the meaning of socialism and contrasts authoritarian socialism with a more democratic conception.
